Martial arts have been originated from the human struggle instinct. Originally it has a purpose to kill and wound, but after thousands of years its shape has changed, and now it is a competitive sport with an inheritable history.

In our country, Japan, with the establishment of the samurai (warrior) system, Martial Arts developed to be a skill that a samurai should master. That was not a simple purpose to kill or wound, it has changed to be combative sport with high-degree skills that possesses the philosophical orientation of the Bushido (the code of the samurai). The purpose to master the Martial Arts in Bushido is not only to be a technique to attack and defend, but also to strengthen the mind and soul. Improving the mind it is possible to develop a body and soul full of health, also contributing to shape the human being.

Shoot Boxing, following this "samurai’s struggle", keeps the principle of being "Standing Vale Tudo", also seeking for fighting manner and aesthetic. This fighting manner does not mean to look for brutal power, it means not to oppress the weak, and it is the samurai’s pride of not pursuit the opponent who fell down. This is the Bushido.

Through Shoot Boxing, it is possible to compare Martial Arts principles and general public’s common sense, and so we expect to educate healthy young people who can strictly obey the severe discipline.

The purpose

Nowadays, in Japan, many kinds of social issues and contradictions are been conflicting. This fact can be seen in the bully and awareness of spirit shown by the life and behavior of the youth, who was supposed to represent out country, and it is causing repercussion on the present society.   But maybe all of this is related to the lack of responsibility in the cultivation of aesthetic and mental sentiments. So, the youth spend their time going to cramming schools in order to take examinations, and even in their recreation, they stay indoors playing computer games alone. They have lost the place to learn about cooperativeness and moral issues that was supposed to be acquired originally at schools through group and club activities. Recently, concerning the sports situation, it is given spot in many kinds of competitive sports no matter it is amateur or professional, and due to the healthy boom, many people started to practice sports with no reluctance. But not only this, the appearance of a sport than can train both physically and mentally is inevitably desired.

In Bushido, one can improve his ability, train his spirit and feel people’s pain; this is the more important meaning of "shape human being by physical and mental training".

Shoot Boxing, as the Japanese original Martial Arts following the Bushido rule "samurai fights standing", has the purpose to spread all over the world, being in the course of establishing its competitiveness widely in the society. In this process, we expect that many people, starting with the youth, have the chance to experience Shoot Boxing, and how it is being useful to shape people coping with both physical and mental training.
