S-cup, the Shoot Boxing World Cup, it is the World Tournament held once in 2 years. It has started in 1995 as "The real tournament to decide the strongest standing", competing under the Shoot Boxing standing rules "Striking, Throwing, and Submission". Until now, Hiromu Yoshitaka, Rayen Simson, Andy Souwer, Kenichi Ogata got the title of Champion


The First SHOOT BOXING WORLD TOURNAMENT S-cup‘95

The commemorative first event was held at the First Stadium in the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium. At that time, with Hiromu Yoshitaka in head of Shoot Boxing as the Japanese ace, it became a middle weight World Tournament that attracted a great deal of attention gathering many famous champions such as Yoshitaka´s rival Rayen Simson who later became to be called "Emperor", Muethai Champion Bovi Chorwaikan that was on the rampage and belonged to UWF International. Yoshitaka, on the Finals, beat the fated opponent Ronny Lewis and became the first S-cup Champion

 

 

The Second SHOOT BOXING WORLD TOURNAMENT S-cup‘97

In the second event, the first round was held in Yoyogi Gymnasium, and the finals at Ariake Coliseum. As defending Champion, Hiromu Yoshitaka participated. On the first fight, he beat the Muethai Champion Reinbow, and on the second fight, he fought with Rayen Simson, the third fight with the same opponent in his career. The fight went to the extra round, and with a narrow margin, Simson won. Taking advantage of the circumstances, he won all though the tournament and became the second Champion. In this second event, besides the "Holland Emperor" Rayen Simson, world most strongest "Muethai Killer" Denny Bill, Hassan Kasrioi, WPKL Champion Mohamed Owari, others top fighters participated in the tournament, attracting a great deal of attention from abroad.

 


The Third SHOOT BOXING WORLD TOURNAMENT S-cup2002

The third event was held in the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium, with the presence of the new weapon from Holland, Andy Souwer, who performed a shocking Japanese debut. From the first fight, he won the fight by KO with a speedy combination, and on the second fight, he fought with "Killer Low" Hiroyuki Doi. Doi, who got injured from the first fight, was not able to manage his killer low kicks, and with the fast left body hook, Andy Souwer was the winner. Andy had some difficulty on throwing at the fight with the Chinese John Igo, but after the extra round he won, and Andy Souwer became the third Champion. Since this event, the legend of Andy Souwer started.

 


The Fourth SHOOT BOXING WORLD TOURNAMENT S-cup2004

The fourth event was held again in Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium. The defending Champion Andy Souwer, the established ace Kenichi Ogata, K-1 MAX Champion Albert Kraus, UFC Champion Jens Pulver, Muethai Champion Changpuek, Super League Champion Ole Laursen, and so on, this event gathered the best champions of multiplex fields Ogata, who participated under lots of expectations, was defeated in the first fight by a knee kick from the Brazilian Champion Kateu and got the forehead lacerated. In the opposite, Andy Souwer showed off his overwhelmingly power. After got a KO from Ole with a jumping knee kick and fast repeatedly hits, in the second fight Changpuek was defeated. In the final he fought with Hiroki Shishido who had conquered the chance being a reserve fighter, and got a KO, achieving the championship for 2 years. And also, in this event, started the new era of the "ascending dragon" Shishido who finish second in the tournament.

 


The Fifth SHOOT BOXING WORLD TOURNAMENT S-cup2006

The fifth event was held in Ryogoku Kokugikan. The first fight was between Shoot Boxing versus others sports. From Shoot Boxing, Andy Souwer who was aiming for the three times in a roll, Kenichi Ogata who wished for revenge, the Australian Champion Daniel Dawson, and Hiroki Shishido from the Japanese frame. And as opponents, K-1 Boxing Champion Virgil Kalakoda, Ray Sefoe´s favorite disciple Jordan Tai, MMA Champion Damacio Page, and Brazilian Champion Marfio Canoletti participated. After the first fight, 4 Shoot Boxers remained, and in the second fight, the cards Souwer VS Dawson, Ogata VS Shishido were realized. Souwer and Ogata went to the finals. It became a fierce striking fight, but Souwer got a down by Ogata´s right straight, and Ogata became the fifth S-cup Champion.
