Since the founding of Shootboxing in 1985, the founder Caesar Takeshi has held a lot of volunteer activities under the slogan of “Youth’s Health Education and Contribution to Society”. Examples are charity events for children living in orphanages and institutions, seminars free of charge for primary and junior high school students.
In order to give moral and financial support to the Kansai region after the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995, the first ‘S-cup’ was held in the First Stadium of the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium. Caesar and several good partners, such as Mr. Rikiya Yasuoka, Mr. Yuya Uchida, Mr. Joe Yamanaka, and others, gave donations to Osaka. After this, every time a big event—such as the S-cup and GROUND ZERO—was organized, it got the subtitle of ‘Charity event’. Several volunteer activities are being held, and a part of the tickets turnover is donated to charity establishments. In 2006, these activities were recognized by the United Nations (UN). Now, as a martial arts charity organization recognized by the UN, Shootboxing has become an organization that aims to support people who are living in poverty and suffering from illnesses. Though especially focused on children’s welfare, Shootboxing participates in a wide variety of activities and in many places.
